The National Park: A Refuge for Nature?

The National Park: A Refuge for Nature?
Open Meeting and Discussion
Callander Youth Project, 6 Bridgend, Callander
Thursday October 9th, 7.30 pm

Free Admission – No need to book, just turn up!

From a red deer stag atop a rocky crag to a salmon leaping a waterfall, Scotland is famous for its wildlife, but the sad truth is that Scotland is one of the most nature-depleted countries in the world. Our mammal, bird and insect populations, along with the habitats that support them, need help. How can the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park play its part in restoring Scotland’s natural balance, and its beauty?

Speakers

Tom Boswer: Nature Writer and Wildlife Guide. Author of Waters of Life, Fighting for Scotland’s Beavers

Dominic Hall: Future Nature Development Manager, Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park

Fraser Lamont: Site Manager, Inversnaid RSPB Reserve and member of steering group for The Great Trossachs Forest.

Polly Pullar: Writer and conservationist. Author of The Horizontal Oak: A Life in Nature

Chaired by Karen Lloyd: Writer and environmental activist. Author of Abundance: Nature in Recovery

The evening will also feature a reading from poet Laura T. Fyfe, former Stirling Makar and author of Endless Blue.
